Hello and welcome Paul.

In fact I don't know his position. A debate would be nice if we began with some tangible thesis.

I presume you refer to the fact that Trump announced that Coca-Cola would switch to sugar cane, and he was happy beacaus of the better taste.

* Avoiding Fructose is good for health reasons. (If you wanted to know that? But that was not Trumps reasoning as far as I understood)
* A person who drinks artificail sweetners might not be the best witness for health. We can discuss the impact of those.
* Trump did not make the decision, Coca Cola did (if at all) , so if he forced Coca-Cola to do that we can chalk up a positive point for him. On the other hand he could have tried to establish legislation (that is how a president would have done it)
* I don't get the question about sugar importers. As far as I know Corn Syrup is mostly a US product Sugar cane is also a product of US agriculture (9th producer wordwide).

I agree to glucose (in excess) bad, Fructose worse.

I keep in mind however that the body is using glucose as "energy currency", so even if you don't intake a single molecule of glucose the body will convert e.g. fat into glucose.

* The job loss argument is always brought forward in any change. In fact if the demand for corny syrup will diminish, farers will switch to other crops. Since the USA is a net importter of sugar, I don't fear for the US sugar farmers.

* And I would not claim such extremes as "only position" since that is most probably not true. (Even though I see some very strange things going on.

apparently coca cola has no idea wtf trump is talking about and they won't change jack

this btw comes, as a pure coincidence i bet, at the same time as even trumpettes are wondering why trump won't release the epstein files.

this fuker will probably start a war soon just to distract from those files which definitely incriminate him

Cane sugar soft drinks taste better than those made with corn syrup.

Fructose is found in fruit and honey.

Many (most) people in the West eat WAY too much to be healthy.

Greenland is part of NATO. That would certainly shake things up.

That Fructise is found in nature doesn't make it benign.
Hydrogen Cynide is found in anture. I woud strongly recommend to not artificially adding it to your diet.

I would be surprised if anyone thought Nature was benign. 😆

The whole point of humanity some days seems to be to "get rid of Nature" because it's "not benign." 😆

But you can avoid most HCN by eating sweet almonds instead of the bitter kind.

Just don't drizzle them in honey and eat too many, @Ponderable! 😆
