@shallow-blue saidYou're a Christian too? Explains a lot. How can you be against incestuous monarchs when you believe the earth was populated from two people whose kids had sex with their siblings?
No, we don't.
You really are vegan-and-Ayn-Randian-level pathetic in your insistence that you know us better than we know ourselves.
@vivify saidI think he’s Catholic and Catholics don’t believe that.

Catholic scholars, along with mainstream Protestant scholars, see in the primal stories of Genesis not literal history but symbolic, metaphoric stories which express basic truths about the human condition and humans. The unity of the human race (and all of creation for that matter) derives theologically from the fact that all things and people are created in Christ and for Christ. Christology is at the center, not biology.”
He added that “the question of biological origins is a scientific one; and, if science shows that there is no evidence of monogenism and there is lots of evidence for polygenism, then a Catholic need have no problem accepting that.”
@athousandyoung saidGood, he's not one of those anti-science Christians like those in the Spirituality forum.

@vivify saidI’m most certainly not pro-monarch.
So....no points actually involving stated facts? Only empty assertions from the pro-monarch crowd?
When even the more progressive posters use the debate tactics of right-wingers, it's depressing.
But I’ve been having wild sex all weekend and couldn’t be arsed answering.
Can any American become president?
Nope. You have to be extremely rich.
Which narrows the pool down extremely.
A president is supposed to be a ceremonial function, because decision making is supposed to rest with the chambers of parliament (congress, senate, whatevers).
When a president becomes an ex-president, they’re still referred to as “Mr. President.”
Who’s the top diplomat in the US? Ah, same role as the monarch, again.
A country doesn’t need a monarch. And a country doesn’t need a president.
A country does need a top diplomat. The one you roll out on special occasions or on occasions you want to make special.
And the monarchy brings in a lot of tourist money.
Hence my comparison.
Obviously a president can be voted out. So, politically viewed, better than a monarch.
@vivify saidYou're too much of a simplistic moron to keep debating. Have fun in your fundamentalist mindset, keep loving Trump, and good-bye.
