Writing as a gay man, after a day or two of consideration, I'm kind of cool with superstitious bigots keeping their kids out of classes that might undermine their parents' and culture's intended indoctrination.
Keeps the nascent sprouts of bigotry away from the other kids.
Plus, although I think there must be laws on the books that all children must be schooled somehow, I don't imagine that parents are required to send their children to public schools these days -- and it seems that home-schooling, religious schools, charter schools, and alternative-schooling vouchers have existed for years now -- so if parents want their children to be schooled in some kind of superstitious ghetto of bigotry, they have options.

First band was called Southwind, Irish band, from Venice beach, got a lot of great gigs including one national TV show long time ago though.
Play folk music over several states after Southwind, it was Sugar loaf Mountain string band, old timey, then in Pennsylvania our family band, lot of gigs in the East and 3 years in Israel fell in with the folk crowd there, did lots of gigs around Israel, the biggest folk festival in Israel, Jacobs Ladder, we played 3 years there.
Back home played around East again, Bethlehem Music fest, then Covid stopped acoustic folk gigs dead in the water so started composing folky acoustic tunes, put a dozen or so songs sung by family and friends also on Sound Cloud.
You seem to have a really good taste in music, Taylor Davis is one I will watch.
Do you play yourself? I like talking outside the political realm.
Music has been a large part of my life since I was 8 or so.
Lot of great mentors, long story though.

On my side, I'm kind of cool with getting back to the three Rs or whatever the fundamentals would be these days, plus music and art education and maybe a choice of in-school physical exercise classes (maybe including yoga, qigong, martial arts, bodyweight exercises, and robo-dog dodging) -- as long as there are also some general anti-bullying instruction and enforcement.
My thinking is that children are observant, and these days have even more means for self-education in addition to whatever is imposed by parents, parental culture, or school systems.
The verifiable fact is that gay people exist and so do all people who could be categorized in the LGBTQIA+ agglomeration. To say that any of these people are "perverts" or whatever is an assertion that can only be supported by weak sophistries.
On the other side, we could say that people who make such assertions are (voluntarily or not) superstitious, delusional psychotics -- but maybe more kindly we could instead say that we all interpret reality (such as it is) in different ways.
We (in the USA) are a diverse society and should be proud of that; however, these days it seems we are devolving a little and are not struggling enough to overcome the natural human tendencies that the Founding Fathers tried to address in The Declaration, in The Federalist Papers, in The Constitution, and in The Bill of Rights.
