Chris Rock said something like that. "If you haven't ever thought about where to hide the body, you ain't been in love."
I saw that one. He's right.

Getting back to this thread. Where I live a lot of girls see it as a status symbol to get pregnant in highschool. Grandma has to raise the baby. Getting pregnant in highschool is sentencing oneself to poverty. I tell young people to get an education, get a job and then get a relationship. Then have a baby. I think 25-28 is a good age to have a baby. The crazy thing about it is the younger you are , the more physical energy you have to deal with a baby, but you don't have the emotional maturity or flexibility at that age. When you havea kid in your thirties you don't have the physical energy, but you can tolerate change better.

Is it likely that Grandma was raised by Grandma herself or have times changed for the worse?

Young people resistant to change--yes, ma doesn't like the kid to interfere with her party routine!

Where are you from, if you don't mind my asking? Sounds like it could be Liverpool 🙂

Teenage pregnancy is very common around here too, although I haven't gone into the psychology of it.
A little ex-mining village in Derbyshire.

Along those lines - sorry for the temporary hijack - got a quesshun for youse.

So my (new) girlfriend (of three months) went home to see her family over the holidays, five days away. I myself stayed home and worked, and the gloom of having family scattered all over the country got to me. She flew home, I picked her up, she was very cheerful, and we ...[text shortened]... ick me while I'm down, it won't be the greatest sin ever committed.
Hey Man,

don't worry about it - we've all done it!

A few months back I met this girl who started training at my Karate club. Real nice girl - pretty, funny, the whole 6 yards. We started hanging about quite abit together, and I learned she had a boyfriend but he was in the US, and had been for the previous 4 months, and would be for about another 2 months. Now I didn't pursue her, but one thing led to another if you know what I mean. So I'm thinking great this girl is really cool - we were hanging out heaps, she was staying over at my place on the weekends, everythings good. Or so I thought, although I never could be really sure - she'd never give me any confidence in the whole relationship thing.

Of course, her boyfriend came back from the US, and she had to choose. Now he lives 5 hours away, I live right here, and to top it off, the guy's a bit of a d*ckhead (not my judgement - a third, independant party). But, of course, she chose him over me. I was not happy. Not happy at all. Kinda went off on one. Sent a couple of emails that besically told her how hacked off I was etc. But for that whole time I was a bit of an emotional train wreck.

So Sas, don't worry - I've got, well, one other story, but I'll save that one for another time. Anyhoo, the point is we all do stupid stuff sometimes.

pretty interesting thread, i think that some should start taking about teenage abortions.

should it be banned, should the family be told first or should it just be the girls decision.

If you look back over many posts, I believe you'll see that ground has been plowed. And plowed well.

Nah, I'm not that bad. I do think it's polite that when someone knocks your pint they say sorry. Likewise I think when some girl's knobing you then basically turning round and going off with someone else the way she did is a bit off too... I mean, she either should have finished with him or never started with me...

Instead of sending a couple of emails you should have first phoned every taxi and pizza delivery place in a 10 mile radius to her address then you and your best mate should have got so drunk that you're almost paralytic then gone around to hers kicked the cat, smash a plant pot on the front garden then when the boyfriend comes out tell him what she has been up to, he will then finish her within a week and then she comes crawling back to you, if not you can always look back and smile about it, trust me it works.

I would say that a woman should only have babies in her 30's.

She gotta live first, have her own life, learn a few lessons to pass on to her kids. She should also have had the opportunity to study and become financially independent by then.
