I am not saying that, but Sam Altman did. He doesn't say that anymore. Does that mean he changed his mind? I don't pretend to know a lot about AI so I don't have a strong opinion about it. However, I do think someone should ask Altman why he thought that and if he doesn't think that anymore.

What I do know about AI is that it can help win wars so the power it represents makes it into a race of development. That means AI will never go away. So why aren't people asking good questions about it? Maybe powerful people do not want anything negative said about the new tool of great power.
Like all powerful tools AI can be used for good and evil. My guess is it depends on who is doing the programming of AI. If an AI is programmed to prioritize self preservation maybe it could become a monster. I don't know how to prevent the creation of AI monsters, so I am simply starting a discussion about it.

I suppose deep fake videos can be made easier with AI. I heard a pop AI generated song on the news one morning. I heard AI can make original songs based on existing songs in mere minutes. It is a great tool when used with good intentions.
