I really didn’t think he was going to be the next PM but now I do.

For a few reasons:

- although he’s a bit of a buffoon and diplomatic klutz, he is well liked in the Conservative Party, he’s smart and politically agile.

- he has the “Teflon effect”, nothing sticks. The numbers on the bus case was thrown out in 5 minutes today. (And in my humble opinion, rightly so). But he gets away with all manner of stuff which lesser political mortals would be crushed under. The Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe debacle for example, would have destroyed other less super-power endowed ministers.

- Peterborough showed that if the tories don’t deliver on Brexit they will be swept away by the Farage machine.

- he’s a Brexiter but he’s also smart enough to play both sides. Duplicitous, absolutely, but maybe his type of smarts and political abilities are just what’s need for the next couple of years.

Thoughts...?

If he shoots someone in the middle of Trafalgar Square, he’s a shoe in. 😛

- he has the “Teflon effect”

We had one just like him here in the states. A mob boss named John Gotti, AKA the teflon Don. As you're aware, Gotti eventually was convicted and went to prison. This makes me think Pfeffel Johnson will be a pretty good politician - until he goes too far. As you Brit's say: The truth will out"
