In wanting to just talk about ideas he was also good at slamming down any "woke" view and championing Guns and Jesus.
The irony that Jesus would never advocate for guns as a means to defy tyranny seems to have been missed by those who supported Charlie Kirk's activism. The irony too that he was taken out by a shooter is totally insane. Is America and its citizens doomed to spiral into intractable positions where both sides take aim and shoot at the other (figuratively and literally) and civil discourse no longer is a feature of your society? This is appalling.

I've watched Charlie debate a student over 2nd amendment rights and he basically argued for the rights of the person that shot him. The person that shot him was deranged. I don't care if he was left or right. The fact that someone would bear arms to kill an opponent, for speech they did not like is not sane. Yet Charlie's whole argument against the student was based on his fear of government. That government could not be trusted with a registry of gun ownership. That red flagging people for acts of violence and disallowing them gun ownership, would be a pretext for a register that would allow government to target citizens.

What kind of patriot has zero confidence in their government? What kind of patriot sees government through this lens of dystopian angst?

Can you provide your favorite Charlie Kirk quote? Or one of the ideas he had that was particularly insightful?

Vile because they don't agree with you?

Oh, no, that's not divisive. Jackass.

What's vile is thinking that if your ideology is not racist, misogynistic, homophobic and/or transphobic, then it's vile.

those that genuinely think that vile crap are probably quite sure they're not racist or misogynistic in the slightest.

Like the example no1marauder gave about kirk thinking whether a black pilot is qualified or not, i am sure all the dumbasses believing that as well think it's quite reasonable to be thinking that and "i am just asking questions here". They are not racist, they didn't say the n word. They are just asking questions.

Charlie Kirk didn't believe that i bet. He just made money from making others believe it.

I know right. Joe's usually quite the talker.

Charlie Kirk is propped up by conservatives here and the media writ large as an insightful gadfly striking at the norms of society and no one can share an idea he had that they liked, or post a good clip of him "engaging" with a liberal in a productive way?

Seems suspect.
