It seems to have been a trial run to see if US warships could easily escort commercial ships through the Strait. The Iranian response, while not able to penetrate the guided missile destroyers defenses this time, seems to have been robust enough to discourage private shipping and the US Navy from trying it again at least for now.

Yeah trump and hegseth keep looking for an exit ramp that doesn't exist and Iran knows it.

I just thought it was funny they announced that "freedom" was being paused.

I think its because shipping companies told him they didn't want to risk it. Insurance is through the roof on these vessels.

Probably a factor. And because it didn't work. No tankers followed them through the strait. That was just another lie to manipulate oil markets.

I heard the DOJ was "looking into" this but these investors are betting big that nothing will come of it.

Of course. They are billionaires. They control government. Where do you think politicians get their campaign money from? Congress could have stopped Trump from waging war with Iran and chose not to. They are not representing the common American. The common American is against this war.

We live in a Plutocracy. The USA became an empire when JD Rockefeller and JP Morgan funded William McKinley's presidential campaign to put him in power. These robber baron families have controlled this country ever since.
