America is in deep trouble. Image is low, unemployment is high, crime and murder rate is increasing, everyone is fat, the rest of the world generally dislikes them, they are losing a war they started (again), Britney Spears shaved her head, most people are dependent on the state and welfare services are falling apart. Yet most politicians defend the Neoconservative Model. Reforms merely scratch the surface. But the Model is not the solution to these problems – it is the problem, says economist Lord Boddington Fobbergosh. Discuss.

I'm gonna hope for the 46 minute work week with 2 months of vacation and letting someone else defend us from a Soviet style continental sized land grab. Oh, and no shaving. Plus an undeserved sense of superiority.

One more thing, we're deporting baldy and Rosie gets a free ride to Tikrit.

nope.

Image is low, ....

nope. unless you're a journalist peddling woe, a democrat eying the white house or more congressional seats, a whiny euroweenie, or someone dumb enough to listen to any one of these.

unemployment is high, ...

nope. just look at these graphs! it's been falling since at least 2004:

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf

crime and murder rate is increasing, ...

Nope. on crime, the drop in property crime should more than cover the small rise in violent crime, as most crimes are property crimes.

and crime rates have been DROPPING for years; you should expect to hit a lower limit somewhere, and small increases to be reported as BIG NEWS, 'cause the journalists gotta report on something, right?

and re murder rate, an anti-DP advocate can hardly complain about that.

And, look at these beautiful graphs!:

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/gvc.htm

everyone is fat, ...

means lots of food to eat.

the rest of the world generally dislikes them, ....

boo-hoo, i'm gonna cry in my Cooper's tonight. and Tony still likes us!

they are losing a war they started (again), ...

i say again: "unless you're a journalist peddling woe, a democrat eying the white house or more congressional seats, a whiny euroweenie, or someone dumb enough to listen to any one of these."

and if you still don't believe it, compare the graph of Coalition casualties vs. Vietnam:

Britney Spears shaved her head, ...

bald is sexy. remember persis khambatta?

most people are dependent on the state and welfare services are falling apart. ...

a. are they? b. a liberal is complaining about dependency on the state? c. are they?

Yet most politicians defend the Neoconservative Model. Reforms merely scratch the surface. But the Model is not the solution to these problems – it is the problem, says economist Lord Boddington Fobbergosh. Discuss.

would you trust a guy like "Lord Boddington Fobbergosh" on any other topic? what did he "say", beyond that one statement?

Actually i read an article the other day that says crime rate on a whole is going up in the US. I'll try to dig it up.

if property crime went down a little, and violent crime went up a little, and property crime incidents are around 7-8 times more numerous than violent crime incidents, then you may expect that crime overall went down.

They are about the only consistently polite and friendly group of people you can meet in London. Surpased only by fun and chatty american girls in their early twenties.

I like them.
