From the BBC:
A resident of Arizona has died from pneumonic plague, health officials confirmed on Friday.
This was the first recorded death from the disease in the county since 2007, Coconino County Health and Human Services reported. In that case, a person had an interaction with a dead animal infected with the disease.
Plague, known as the "Black Death" in the 14th century, killed up to half of Europe's population

Yes! Long live RFK!
Sweet Jesus. Floods, plagues, trump… is God trying to tell you incels something or not?
Damn.
“Interaction with a dead animal” obviously being politically correct for: “Some right-wing incel raped a bear corpse.”
Damn.
You folk are seriously on the wrong side of God’s wrath! Hahahhaha
@shavixmir saidOnly in America. But this is what you get when too many US citizens think that being self-reliant means that everything that benefits anyone other than themselves are Socialism (or Communism or Marxism or whatever new word they got from Fox that day).

They voted for this and as always US citizens pay with their lives. I guess it's just the cost of doing business.
@shavixmir saidIf only it were that simple.
The plague people, the plague!
Yer all doomed! Doomed I tells ya! Doooooooomed!
@shavixmir saidAnd apparently, RFK Jr., the man appointed by Trump to head the Department of Health and Human Services, has decided that we are safer if epidemics are allowed to just "run its course", and this is why he hasn't done one damned thing to curb the measles epidemic now ravaging Texas and New Mexico and threatening to travel to other states.
