See, that's the thing - the Libertarian position is in my opinion extremely compatible with most peoples' positions, but no one supports them because "they'll never win" - a self fulfilling prophecy.

That website may easily be biased though.

I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if we could have elections without party affiliations... everyone independent.

Actual social libertarians would never join a political party. This may explain their underrepresentation.

What? Why not? Just because you believe in social freedom does not mean you can't organize and participate in the legal system.

In fact, the Democratic Party has a lot in common with social libertarians, just as the Republican Party has a lot in common with economic libertarians.
