am i right in saying all american sports dont have segregation with the fans...???

no, no, no.... you see you're suppose to, it's a team thing, all the supporters together, chanting, singing, cheering, crying... all the fans toghether as one, wanting the same... you have to have segregation with the fans, not to stop violence, but to encourage unity.

american sport fans have never experienced the joy of having 50,000 fans all together, singing the immortal words to the other set of fans... "we're better than you... and you know it"

Believe me, it's better to be on the other side and laugh at the English singing that.

That´s only chavball. Rugby and Cricket seem to cope fine without having to be penned off from each other.

You clearly, sir, have never been to an international tiddley-winks tournament.

I'll never forget '99 when that Russian intentionally blinded a Spanish fan (with a tiddley... or was it a wink...). The riots lasted for days.

American sports suck peanuts.
All that hanging around, padding up and needing cheerleaders to make things at least slightly enjoyable.

However, nude cheerleaders and grenades instead of cricket balls (or whatever the hell they use over there) and knives to cut through body armour... now, that would be an American sport I'd watch.

Ahh yes, nothing beats a good away, where you dominate the stadion, leaving the locals to sneak away shamefull - knowing that they didn't support their team half as much as you did yours.

You guys really do this? You can't sit next to a fan from the other side without a fence between you? Geez!

As I said, it's only for soccer (it's called chavball over here).

While I struggle to understand the excitement of leaving a match feeling you supported your team better than the other supporters because you shouted more I'll accept that some people do.

I don't think it compares with the enjoyment I got from spending the evening with some French rugby fans after England had beaten them in the world cup sem-finals and I had bought them drinks after by way of commiserations. Or the evening spent with some Welsh fans after a Six Nations match a few years ago.

Chavball seems to attract a higher proportion of ruffians than other forms of entertainment. Could it be something to do with kicking think you?

Not really as there's a fair bit of kicking in rugby too.

I think it's all the headers.

Headers? Most appear to be bone-headed so I suppose that could be an explanation.
