This thread fairly well sums up the MAGA movement as a whole, and why it's doomed to complete failure. To wit: the suffering of others is characterized as "funny," while trends showing that MAGA is, in real time, destroying the US's present standing and future prospects are ignored or rationalized away.
Refer again to my "brain drain" thread, which is just one of myriad things happening right now that shows the Empire is face down and bleeding out, day by day. It will take generations for the US to recover, by which time China, India, and the European Union will be far, far ahead.
Policies of division, fear, hate, war—none of these things profit a nation for long. There's a temporary, fevered period when ultranationalism, persecutions, and bellicose chest-thumping provides a euphoric rush (to some) and may have the feel of being unstoppable, but it's always brief. Just a handful of years, at best.
Oh, look. Our allies aren't helping to bail Trump out of his Iran mess. They helped us in times past, for other presidents, but not now. That didn't take long. And should we wonder why???
The noose of isolation is inexorably tightening around the Empire's throat, while inequality and mass disaffection spread like a plague domestically.

For the last 75 years its all about the end of the planet, ice age, rising sea levels, depletion of the ozone layer and a whole lot of crying wolf and exaggerating... nothing of which has materialised. Instead the world has progressed in the last 75 years beyond all expectations.

I hear a lot of nonsense from your sort that there's no problem with the environment because initial predictions back 50 or 60 years ago were off the mark. As a matter of fact all the dire predictions are now coming true, and I find it flabbergasting that you seem unaware of it. Sea levels are rising, glaciers are receding, climates are changing, and the ocean acidifying. Coral reefs around the world are becoming bleached, and atmospheric CO2 levels rising.
Throughout the world the data is overwhelming. Populations of birds and insects are plummeting just about everywhere, from the tropics to temperate zones. If you ever pulled your head out of the sand, quit ranting about throwing people in ovens, and read some real news for a change, you'd see that the planet is indeed extremely sick, and getting sicker. There are hundreds of independent metrics that spell it out, and it bodes more ill for the future prospects of humanity than all its other problems combined.
It's charming, in a way, how right-wingers pretend that the Earth is an eternal roll of toilet paper than can just be used and abused without restraint, and somehow the consequences will never come back and bite them (and more upright-walking humans) in the ass.
As you said, the world has progressed in the last 75 years, and that includes climate science. In the early days models were far off the mark, but as data has poured in, studies have been done, and computer analyses have become more robust, we not only have far more accurate predictive models, but we're at the point where we're seeing them verified in real time.

The entomologists are all lying about declining insect populations, especially in proximity to human development. Meteorologists, oceanologists, biologists, and climate scientists are just making up stuff about rising atmospheric CO2 and methane levels, the acidification of ocean waters, coral reef die-off, collapsing fish populations, and so on.
Hell, you can hear it from ordinary people just about anywhere: fewer fireflies and butterflies, fewer varieties of insects, fewer birds. When you pay attention you see it. You hear it. The silence is deafening. The pollinators are thinning out, and that's going to be bad news for agriculture.
Of course, you are not a normal, rational person. Bombing mosques and throwing people in ovens is okay by you. You're a sick little puppy, no doubt about it. But you need to be called out here, so that your poison stops with you and your political bedfellows. There's nothing whatsoever redeeming about you.
