New potential Twitter-related troubles arose for Rep. Anthony Weiner on Friday, after Delaware police reportedly spoke with a 17-year-old high school girl about “direct online communications” she’s had with the disgraced congressman.

Weiner confirmed the communications late in the day, but denied that anything inappropriate took place.

So lying about one thing defacto means he's literally lying about everything else?

Are you on record as claiming you've never lied?

Its a very curious phenomenon that despite the existence of other, arguably more important issues to worry about, such as food prices, the stagnation of the economy, the IMF, etc, it is the misadventures of a congressman that have suddenly assumed cosmic importance.

Does it really matter if Weiner was sending pictures of himself via twitter to other women, in a quasi-adulterous manner? Why is so much media attention and energy spent on covering this incident, which ultimately concerns only Weiner and those he has involved himself with directly?

Que canned, self-rightous answer: "I have morals!"

It would be worse if Weiner were one of those right-wing "family values" moral legislators who turn out to be tap dancing like Fred Astaire in airport lavatories, but that just isn't the case, is it?

Is hate speech really necessary, Hugh? I suggest you edit; slurs of gays or other minorities are frowned upon in these forums.

"I think they call it indecent exposure when you do it in real time...... there is a fine involved, and counciling I suppose.."

No, indecent exposure is when you publicly expose yourself. Sending naughty pictures to someone you're having intimimate conversations with on the internet does not qualify.

"so we know where your moral standards are, ok to send anyone and everyone a picture of your "weiner"."

Between consenting adults? Yes, it's absolutley OK. Unless of course there are other factors involved, like being married.

"barney frank is a faggot....."

This is the part where I realize I've been wasting my time having a conversation with a bigotted tool.

Its interesting you bring up Barney Frank who had an affair with the CEO of Fanny Mae enen though he oversaw Fanny Mae from Congress. Does anyone in the Democrat party care? Nope. Then you have Clinton who purgered himself, an illegal act, because he denied his adultery under oath, yet no calls from his own party to step down were heard. Then you have Charley Rangel with about 20 or so Congressional ethical violations and no calls for his resignation from the Dems.

Why is Weiner any different from those Democrats before him? After all, he broke no laws, aside from a possible fling with a minor, and he broke no Congressional rules.
