@Earl-of-Trumps saidYou made up an "obligation" to attend a parade esp. one containing members of an extremist government presently engaged in what most of the world considers genocide.
I am not the mayor of New York City and have no obligation to its citizens.
IF it was a pro-Russia parade chock filled with members of Putin's government no sane person would expect the mayor of NYC to attend.
Just to show how ridiculous your contrived argument is:
"Total permitted parades (including these and others) run 200–250 annually per NYC data. "

According to this new rule you invented, the mayor of NYC would have to spend most of his days marching in parades.

I clap for you!
Traditionally, the mayor of NYC does lead this parade. It says that in the link I provided.
So this is a real slap in the face to these citizens of NYC, not Israel. If Irish people on St. Patrick's day
or Italians on Columbus day were treated this shabbily there would be protests!

@Earl-of-Trumps saidItalians (and Spanish) ARE treated like crap on Columbus Day in the USA. If you hadn't noticed there IS no Columbus Day any more in many places including historically Hispanic States.

Nobody has any reason to protest against the Irish.

Two statues of Columbus — one in Columbus Circle and the other in Astoria — recently took center stage in the city’s mayoral race, with Mayor Eric Adams revealing a plan to push for landmark status for the statues to thwart Zohran Mamdani from tearing them down if he wins City Hall.
While Mamdani, the front-runner in the race, hasn’t explicitly threatened to demolish the statues should he become mayor, he did post a photo of himself on Twitter in 2020 giving a middle finger to the Astoria statue — located in Columbus Square — with a caption calling for it to be torn down.

@Earl-of-Trumps saidThat's a choice, not a requirement.

And in no way does it show "anti-Semitism".
St. Patrick's Day and Columbus Day honor an individual, not a foreign country so the comparison is inapposite.
@no1marauder saidColumbus Day is also Spain's national holiday - Dia de la Hispanidad.
