Obviously, it is better for society if no insults were ever used. It would be better for debates, whether on this forum or elsewhere.

Insults get out frustrations. But are insults ever justified? Or are they simply the mark of poor debating?

Yes ... Justified in the following situations :
- a poster insists that he hates all religions - he is a damn fool
- a poster provides links to fake or conspiracy theory websites - he is a liar and a promoter of lies
- a poster is a racist eg blacks who hates whites [and others] and blame whiles for all their ailments.
- when something has to be repeated over 3 times.

Just a few... there may be more.

Problem is, Trumps retarded base LOVES it when he insults, they get off on it so in his case all bets are off. Of course REAL people will be disgusted but it remains to be seen how many of those folks will swing, the ones undecided.
The cruder Trump becomes, the more his base loves him, he is one of THEIRS.

And Trump is not even beginning to 'prepare' totally ignoring his advisers, just wanting to wing it, loaded down with his usual lies and insults.
He has no policy to talk about so the total of his talk will be about how big his audience was, bigger than Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech like he already claimed.
The question to be answered tomorrow is just how many lies will he manage to puke out in those 90 minutes and how much will he interrupt Kamala because AFAIK, mics will be on the whole time, not cut off like Trump V Biden.

He WILL say just how incredibly well our country did under his so called leadership.
And I don't think he will like it if Kamala brings up the hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths from his incompetence handling the Covid crisis.
Over a million dead on his watch.
I just HOPE he brings it up first just how well he handled it. She is going to tear a new ass out of him tomorrow.

Whatever you say chief. We will see tomorrow. He WON'T talk about actual policy since all he has is plans to cut taxes for the ultrarich, make abortion illegal in all 50 states, advance voter suppression, make way for Project 2025 and I know you THINK he disavows it but he lies about that as well as everything else.
Also putting in three times the children in cages this time, deport 10 million. Quell protests with our military, peaceful protest, so much for freedom of assembly in the constitution.
All of that and MUCH worse.
So get ready for the loss of freedoms, a LOT more than we have already lost like women's rights, the right to control her own body or get medical help when an abortion is absolutely needed to save her life. They already are doing that in Texas, the ultrarightwingnuts want to make that permanent in all 50 states.
So much for states rights.
Funny how you believe everything Trump pukes up.

That is funny. Me lying. When Trump just said for instance, one small instance, his crowd was MUCH bigger than Martin Luther King's crowd at his 'I have a dream' speech, so Trump must have had a half MILLION at his rallies, eh.
There were only a QUARTER million at MLK's speech.
