For all the clowns who love to throw around the "Apartheid" term, is that video the way South African whites reacted when blacks were discriminated against during the Apartheid era?

Is that the way American white southerners reacted when blacks were discriminated against under Jim Crow?

Is that the way ordinary Germans reacted to the anti-Semitic Nazi policies?

Is that the way Arabs react when Arabian media outlets print stereotypical demeaning Jew caricatures?

    Yeah.

    That's what I thought.

Oh, but I'm sure the ordinary citizens of any country would react just as sharply to offensive conduct. Right?

    Right?

There's an Israeli documentary available called: "Flipping out."
It's well worth watching. Basically a lot of young Israelis, after leaving the army, pop off to India and Thailand to abuse drugs.

One of the themes to surface is summarized by: "Oh, the Indians are like Palestinians. They're like little animals; pets."

It's not racism (i.e. they're both semetic, and indeed, probably are both Caanite in origin; according to the lastest findings), but deep-rooted arrogance and very patronising.

On the other hand, when two groups of people have had their horns locked for two generations, then it's no small wonder they verbally snipe at each other (Catholics and protestants in Scotland and Ireland, for example).

The arrogance though is something totally bizarre. I can only think it's due to people actually believing they're the chosen people. That cannot be good for one's ego.

    There's a movie called "Terminator". It's shocking.

There is this evil computer called Skynet, which takes over
the world and puts on the street a load of mean cyborg dudes
with guns, hunting down humans as if they were rats.

It is a total eye opener because, like, come on, dude, Skynet
could be your own PC! Like, totally trippy!

So, I recommend you all to dump your PCs because they're
evil. They're, like, you know, a little seed that will blossom
one day into Skynet and then the end of our human species.

    Not cool.

Sura 4:101 "When ye travel through the earth, there is no blame on
you if ye shorten your prayers, for fear the Unbelievers May attack
you: For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies."

    Wake up, dude.

I don't know what your Sura reference has to do with anti-arab sentiment; arrogance or racist.

    You don't?

Their own religion tells them that anybody who

Its good to see age old stereotypes inverted and some positivity in human relations being shown. Commendable.

But the same could have been observed of many white south africans during the apartheid era. Its usually personal censorship that makes people follow the party line and mouth racial stereotypes for the most part anyway. Fear of being seen as soft by the broader community can add a callous edge to a person's public conversation, yet in private those very same people can usually reflect on the 'nice people' they know from that discriminated group who are 'not like the rest of them'. However you need more than random acts of kindness to break down systemic injustice.

The positive note would be that at least if more of this type of attitude takes hold, then there is still hope. When people can be comfortable to be themselves and treat people on an individual basis is always a good thing. The more its celebrated the more the walls of prejudice come tumbling down. TV being used as a power for good. Who would have thought!

Just because I am obnoxious, does not mean that you should be arrogant towards all Scots.

Dissenting white South Africans reacted variously: some went into exile, some joined the political opposition, some joined the resistance movement. Of course, they were reviled as traitors.

Do any Israelis belong to Hamas or similar?

By the way, what is a 'price-tag' attack?

Why would Israelis belong to a terrorist group

Some of them yes, some others no. Do you have any statistics concerning racism? Around 20% of the population are openly racist here, what's the figure in Israel?

You might ask yourself why white South Africans supported South African resistance groups with slogans like 'one settler one bullet'.
