Is there a way to simplify it other than party affiliation? Where do you get your information for elections? Do you research it or is it fed to you via network news? Is it possible that the consequences of elections are to important to leave people that find politics to confusing? There is some fun data to look at so dig around let us all know what else is in there strikes a chord with you.

There once was a musical troupe
A pickin' singin' folk group
They sang the mountain ballads
And the folk songs of our land
They were long on musical ability
Folks thought they would go far
But political incompatibility led to their downfall
Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear was a Methodist
This musical aggregation toured the entire nation
Singing the traditional ballads
And the folk songs of our land
They performed with great virtuosity
And soon they were the rage
But political animosity prevailed upon the stage
Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear burned his driver's license
Well the curtain had ascended
A hush fell on the crowd
As thousands there were gathered to hear The folk songs of our land
But they took their politics seriously
And that night at the concert hall
As the audience watched deliriously
They had a free-for-all
Well, the one on the right was on the bottom
And the one in the middle was on the top
And the one on the left got a broken arm
And the guy in the rear, said, "Oh dear"
Now this should be a lesson if you plan to start a folk group
Don't go mixin' politics with the folk songs of our land
Just work on harmony and diction
Play your banjo well
And if you have political convictions keep them to yourself
Now, the one on the left works in a bank
And the one in the middle drives a truck
The one on the right's an all-night deejay
And the guy in the rear got drafted

I get my information for elections from a variety of sources: Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Forbes, Heritage Foundation, NCPA, Heartland Institute, talk radio, Townhall.com columnists, etc. I do not get any of my information from television's talking heads, since they are all in the tank for Obama, nor do I put much stock in the op-eds of the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time or Newsweek.
We have to have a license to drive a car and practice certain professions (accounting, legal, physician, hair braider, etc.), why not voting?

The post that was quoted here has been removedI'll explain it for all you 19-year-olds out there: Because the Democrats and the Baby Boomers wrecked the economy and voted themselves more entitlements than any generation in history, you can expect to have a much lower standard of living than your parents because a greater and greater share of your earnings will be taken from you to pay for today's retirees. Forget about getting the job you want out of college, forget about getting married, forget about getting a new car, forget about saving for a house, forget about saving for retirement, more and more of your income will be confiscated to pay for higher government spending and for ever increasing entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. If Obama gets elected, my advice to someone just starting out would be to move to Eastern Europe, Hong Kong or Singapore.

I like how you boil down politics to "how much will it cost me." This is a good example of your narrow mindedness.
