It won't work

My sister-in-law and nephew are both teachers, neither want anything to do with carrying a gun to school. Both say they worked to obtain their education degrees in order to educate children, not to act as police officers. This reflects the views of over 75% of teachers nationwide. The GOP's nonsensical plan to arm teachers is a non-starter, even in deep red states. Banning assault weapons, and closing gun show loopholes, would be at least small steps in curbing mass shootings in America.

We see this red herring over and over. Its not that a teacher is carrying a gun, it's that they might be carrying a gun. And to quote zahlooney "if it saves one life it's worth it."

Also in a gun free zone a shooter can do as much damage with a bolt action rifle or even a pistol if they're the only one with a gun, so your ban assault weapons is just you being a parrot, you may as well be saying 'polly want a cracker".

I wouldn't want to live in a country that needs armed teachers.
Sadly, that is where America is headed.

What did I say that was objectionable??

@Wajoma
Funny how there were over 100 police in Texas that day which resulted in 19 children killed. Yeah, arming everyone is the way to go. Sure, and I have a GREAT bridge for sale...

You and vivify share the same misrepresentation MO, I specifically said it's not that everyone is armed, it's that anyone could be armed.

Can you read or do I need to adopt your childish capitalisation to emphasise words. Here let me try stooping to your level, a sonhouse translation:

If you have already made your proposals re: how to deal with the problem of mass-shootings in America, could you point me to the thread where you posted those?

There were a dozen more mass-shootings in the USA this past weekend, after the one at Robb Elementary School.
