"Japan basketball players kicked out of Asian Games after night with women:
Delegation chief issues apology to Japanese people."

"Four players from Japan’s men’s basketball team have been sent home
in disgrace from the Asian Games in Indonesia for spending the night
with women in a Jakarta hotel."

It's unclear whether these women were prostitutes or not.

"Prostitution in Indonesia is legally considered a "crime against decency/morality",
although it is widely practiced, tolerated and even regulated in some areas."
    --Wikipedia

"“The Japan Olympic Committee decided to withdraw their accreditation and
send them back to Japan early this morning. We have a specific disciplinary code.
It’s a clear breach of the code of conduct for the Japanese delegation.
The athletes should be role models of society, not only in the sporting
venues but also on other occasions.”
--Yasuhiro Yamas**ta (head of the Japanese delegation at the Asian Games)

"As athletes representing Japan their actions were unspeakable, and
there is no excuse for their indiscretion,”
--Yuka Mitsuya (chairwoman of the Japan Basketball Association)

"The players flew back home at their own expense The remaining eight players,
officials and coaches will stay here to continue to play for the rest of the competition.”
    --Yasuhiro Yamas**ta

How many other nations would discipline their athletes in this way?
(Some media might congratulate their athletes for 'scoring' with local women.)

At the 2016 Olympics, Usain Bolt reportedly celebrated his victories by
enjoying a night with a Brazilian beauty, whom he 'compensated' for her services.
Of course, he remains a national hero in Jamaica.

Notwithstanding Japan's profession of high moral standards, it's well-known
that Japanese men are avid consumers in the sex tourism market in Asia.
So these athletes could have avoided 'disgrace' by bedding women on their own time.

Japan's culture of sexuality is screwed up. Very unhealthy sense of sexuality over there.

Women avoid marriage because a husband won't allow them to pursue their ambitions. Men who aren't wealthy have given up on women:

The nation of Japan is so paranoid about their reputation they perform drastic punishments for what in other nations is considered normal.

And then you have hentai and teenage schoolgirls selling sex to rich businessmen so they can afford the new trendy purses and such.

Once again, you're asking the wrong group. If you want an accurate answer, I would suggest you ask the designated legal authorities in each country what their policy is regarding athletes conduct abroad. 🙂

Does Mott-the-Hoopie assume that prostitutes are the only women who would sleep with
(relatively) famous male athletes whom they had met recently?
