Venezuela has expropriated a wide range of foreign companies, primarily during the administrations of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, across various sectors including oil and gas, electricity, telecommunications, cement, steel, mining, and food production. Key foreign companies that had assets expropriated include:
AES Corp (U.S.) - Stake in Electricidad de Caracas, the country's largest private power producer.
BP plc (United Kingdom) - Oil projects (operational control transferred, retained minority share).
Cemex (Mexico) - Cement plants.
Chevron Corp. (U.S.) - Oil projects (retained minority share, but some rigs temporarily taken over during payment disputes).
Coca-Cola-Femsa (Mexico) - Assets in the food sector.
ConocoPhillips (U.S.) - Oil and gas assets (Hamaca, Petrozuata, Corocoro projects) after refusing new contract terms.
Ensco International, Inc. (U.S.) - Drilling rigs were taken over by PDVSA over payment disputes.
ExxonMobil (U.S.) - Oil projects (assets expropriated after refusing new contract terms).
Gold Reserve Inc (Canada) - The Brisas mining project.
Gruma (Mexico) - Assets in the food sector.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. (U.S.) - 11 oil drills were nationalized in 2010.
Hilton (U.S.) - Management contract for the Margarita Hilton Hotel Complex.
Holcim (Switzerland) - Cement plants.
Lafarge SA (France) - Cement plants.
Owens-Illinois (U.S.) - A branch of the company, a manufacturer of glass containers.
Smurfit Kappa (Ireland) - Food production assets.
Statoil ASA (now Equinor) (Norway) - Oil projects (operational control transferred, retained minority share).
Ternium SA (Argentine-led) - Stake in Venezuela's largest steel mill.
Total S.A. (France) - Oil projects (operational control transferred, retained minority share).
Verizon Communications Inc (U.S.) - 28.5% stake in the telecommunications company CANTV.
Williams Companies Inc. (U.S.) - Gas plants and other assets.
Wood Group (U.K.) - A water injection company in which it had a stake.
Many of these expropriations resulted in international arbitration cases, with companies like ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Crystallex, and Gold Reserve winning multi-billion dollar awards, many of which remain largely unpaid or are subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
@Rajk999 saidVenusian government stole everything from the companies that gave them a thriving economy and turned the country into garbage eating beggars.

@Cliff-Mashburn saidYes. The world needs to be wary of socialist communists and Muslims. They are all dangerous.

@no1marauder saidYou dont need to be any police or law enforcement agent to help out in a situation and save lives. Trump is doing the right thing, and lame lawyers like you that support criminals like Chavez and Maduro, are a curse.
Yes. Even if your simplistic formulation were true.
Again, none of our business. We're not the World Police.
@Metal-Brain saidAs usual your posts are full of misinformation or just plain garbage. No country in the decent western world accepts Maduro as the bonafide president of Venezuela. His victory at the polls was due to corruption. Therefore whatever funds Venezuela held at the Bank of England was kept safe from him as he is a crook.
@Rajk999
Wouldn't it be easier to have the bank of England give some of the gold they stole from Venezuela to Exxon/mobile instead? I don't recall the UK having anything stolen from them by Venezuela.

In any case the gold held at the BOE is worth around a billion dollars. The amount due to foreign entities for land and assets expropriated runs in to more than $32 Billion.
Thankfully Trump is not allowing Maduro to continue. His end is coming soon.
@Rajk999 saidIf you knew anything about Nigeria's history (and you have constantly shown yourself to be functionally historically illiterate), you would know that groups that oppose the government or want regional independence or simply war with other groups has been an ongoing problem there since the country's founding. None of that has anything to do with the United States or its security. Bombing rarely, if ever, "saves lives" esp. in the typically indiscriminate manner that modern air forces do it.

As I have said, you always see government as a vehicle for mass murder of those who you have concocted a grievance about. The "right thing" for you is forever killing and warring the world over. The Founders warned early about "foreign entanglements" but unfortunately that wise advice is persistently ignored by the country's governments.
And I see you always must include some extra lies in your posts that I have already debunked.
EDIT: Some wise words from ex-Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI):
"“There’s no authority for strikes on terrorists in Nigeria or anywhere on earth. The 2001 AUMF is only for the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks. The War Powers Resolution doesn’t grant any authority beyond the Constitution. Offensive military actions need congressional approval. The Framers of the Constitution divided war powers to protect the American people from war-eager executives. Whether the United States should engage in conflicts across the globe is a decision for the people’s representatives in Congress, not the president.”

You have no evidence of that. Maduro enjoys a majority support in the polls. And Guaido calling for an election boycott is not evidence of election rigging. He told his supporters not to vote. Of course he lost!
The USA and UK are just thieves trying to justify regime change with propaganda. The gold belongs to Venezuela. Not the guy that attempted a coup.
@Metal-Brain saidYou enjoy supporting losers and evil leaders... the socialists, the dictators, communists, the Imams who preach death to America and Israel. These are your idols and you will lie and deceive for them.

How does it feel to be constantly on the side of losers.
@Rajk999 saidYou have nothing but pouting about imaginary enemies. Venezuela is no threat to anyone. You just hate socialists and you don't even have a rational reason why. You just heard socialism is bad and you went with it.

At least Venezuela has universal healthcare. You know, the same thing Israel has. So I guess Israel is an evil socialist state. Right?
@Rajk999 saidTrump is the criminal here Raj...
The power of the ICIS is limited, and people like you with the mentality of a criminal, like Chavez, Maduro and other international criminals who belive that because these international courts have no power to enforce these judgments, that they can escape justice. Well, Maduro is about to find out.
Presidents without balls, the kind you like, have come and gone. They hav ...[text shortened]... atrocities to continue, and it is time that these judgments are enforced or Venezuela pay the price.

@AThousandYoung saidTrump is the criminal for you. Trump is a hero for millions who were forced to leave family and assets and go to other countries and suffer to start a new life.

You dont know the truth about Venezuela. We see these people coming into Trinidad daily to beg for a chance to stay here and this is also a poor country so Venezuela is in a bad way because of these politicians.
@Rajk999 saidNo, Trump is a multiple felon. He uses force and fraud and breaks the law constantly.
