Mike Tyson is fighting Jake Paul live on Netflix November 15th.

Even though Mike's arguably the greatest boxer of all time, he's still almost 60 years old. So I thought that Jake Paul, a YouTube star who took boxing and won a few fights (and also is a WWE star) would win easily.

However:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/boxing/2024/10/08/jake-paul-offers-mike-tyson-5-million/75578437007/

Jake Paul offered Mike Tyson $5 million dollars (on top of whatever Mike's already being paid) if Tyson lasts *more* than 4 rounds. According to the article, this means Mike can't win by KO in less than 5 rounds. If Tyson gets a first round KO, no $5 million.

This has to mean Paul is afraid of losing to Tyson to make such an offer. Tyson is 58 years old and Paul is 27. If Tyson takes Paul up on his offer, that just helps Paul win, since his age gives him an endurance advantage.

It's also an incredibly shameful offer. If Paul has the money to offer this, why not just higher the best trainers? Mike is almost 60 and he's had time to prepare for about 2 years now.

Or maybe it's just a publicity to stunt to get people talking about the fight next month. If so, well played, Paul.

Anyway: who's going to win?

5 rounds?

Wasn't it always Tyson who almost killed pay-per-view with his 30 second knockouts?

Making him wait 4 rounds sounds like BS .

Tyson could barely survive after 5 rounds in his prime.

Either Tyson knocks him the F out, which is what everyone wants, or he gases out.

This isn't the first time Jake Paul has paid for results.

nobody is making him do anything.

nobody is making him fight a 27 year old and nobody is making him fight for whatever number of rounds. He can walk away at any time. It's all about money and what is he willing to do for it. That's why i have no sympathy for whomever gets their face bashed in.

That being said, it would be fun if Tyson knocks him out. I can't wait to read about the result in a news feed somewhere if i remember to check
