Freddie is spot on. Ju jit zu and its derivatives (judo, Brazilian style) are certainly a the best. When I say ju jit zu below, I include all its major offshoots.

A) Now this is interesting. Probably the one who avoids fighting people the best. Still if they are all going wild, probably a big Pit Fighter or something. Brute strength vs. finesse in an all vs. all. This also has some interesting Game Theory aspects that make the result unclear.

B) Definitely ju jit zu. Have you ever watched UFC? The grappling is by far the most important technique.

C) Hmm either ju jit zu or a bunch of huge pit fighters. The group aspect really messes up the submission/control aspect for the grapplers. If each grappler managed to isolate a different opponent then the grapplers we'd clean up shop quick. But two pit fighters on one grappler, even for a few seconds, would be brutal.

D) Judo. Absolutely. I have a brown belt (Although I haven't worked out in many years.) I have had all sorts of opportunities to put what I learned to effect. It's great to know that when somebody gets out of hand, you can control them without necessarily hurting them (unless of course they are actually a much better fighter than you, in which case you run or get the snot beat out of you.)

E) Wrestlers and pit fighters.

I told this story before here on RHP.

Forgive me if I repeat.

My grandmothers brother Dean spent three years in Stalag 17. He was a gunner on a B-17 in the war and was shot down.

He tells us of the British seargant who knew Ju-Jitzu who gave lessons to all who wanted to learn.

Our family reunions when I was a kid (circa 1952 to 1960) always included a round of Ju-Jitzu throws and grabs. To use the opponents thrust and weight and a lever. To roll and recover.

I value the memory. If not the ability.

Uncle Dean is dead now. But his memory is strong.

He stated that "Had it not been for that release... that few hours each day learning and studying... we would not have survived."

He was 180 pounds when he went into the camp. He was 97 pounds when he was liberated.

He went nuts when he saw food on the floor. Or any kid not eat the food that was on the plate. That's ok. We understood.
