You realize the Star Spangled Banner is about war, right? Noah's point is that it's an interesting fact given America's history of warmongering.
you realize that national anthems are “fight” songs…most all countries address war in their anthems, to single one out is disingenuous

The Canadian national anthem doesn't address war, neither does the British national anthem. AvJoe mentioned the Dutch national anthem so I it looked it up: it doesn't address war either.

American's national anthem doesn't simply "address" war; it's actually *about* a war, written by Franscis Scott Key regarding what he witnessed during war with Britain.

Right-wingers claim to love America yet know f.ck all about its history.

See the bolded part in your link? *That's* the Anthem. You quoted the original.

Do Americans sing the original part of the Star Spangled Banner that includes "slaves" during football games?

Christ, you're retarded.

The anthem has worked though, don't you see? We are telling the world that bombs are easy for us, they fear us, peace through strength, such as that. What is the strongest country of 195 countries? What country would the Dutch turn to if they learned of an impending holocaust aiming at them? Why won't you answer this question?.

Warmongering implies states looking to start wars, little feller. Watch your use of words on the Forum , people are reading....maybe even your posts.
Have we ever started a war? You misrepresent the USA, shame, man. You and suzie are sixth graders.

Humor of the day, by AvJoe; News Flash: The countries of Great Britain and Canada call on the Dutch to help them ward off the onset of Russian invasion!!!!

I can think of a least five off the top of my head:

War of 1812
Mexican-American War
Spanish-American War
Afghanistan invasion of 2001
2nd Gulf War

That doesn't include numerous wars started with Indian nations or smaller actions like Grenada and Panama.

Not the part that's sung for official reasons, the way we don't mention slaves in the U.S. anthem.

Whatever, I'm not arguing this any more. AvJoe asking when the U.S. ever started a war just proves you right-wingers are retards.

I see no reason to state the obvious reasons for entering various wars, and Marauder certainly knows that my statement does not include entering war for conquest, as does Russia, or North Viet Nam, or Germany, but rather for the betterment of mankind, in a word.
That sums up my post. Marauder looking for any morsel to start a worthless discussion. Oh, another reason our country goes to the aid of others is to stop the advance of Marxism (slavery), which is the number one goal of Marauder. Yep. would I lie? Read all his posts. Do you know he thinks that I should pay off the tuition loan of my neighbor? Maybe the USA should start a war on that. I would join, and they would certainly make me a general.

Yes you would lie and do so constantly.

do you wish to correct your claim?

"The Canadian national anthem doesn't address war, neither does the British national anthem."
