Why would I pay any attention to the opinion of a Trump official who is no longer in office?
This is the only money Congress appropriated for Trump's wall:

For a short while, Joe, America was energy independent. Damm, it felt like the 1960's had returned.

The only way the US will ever achieve energy independence is to reduce our use of fossil fuels.

Being a net exporter does not make a nation "energy independent":
"US energy independence is the idea of eliminating the need for the United States to import petroleum and other foreign sources of energy."

@averagejoe1 saidJOBS....Joe will be lost both sides of the border. You have people on both sides not happy about it. He is going to wind up with lots of tough decisions in his term as President some people will like some and others not so much. I am saying term as I believe he will only be in for one term because of his age and health issues.

@very-rusty saidIn the 'first place', years ago, he was for border security. Wanted to punish businesses that hired illegals. He was also for fracking, against gay marriage,,,,,this stuff of his hypocrisy is all over the internet. Why do libs want us conservatives to look up stuff for you on the internet, send you links, etc.

Recall, during his campaigning at the outset, he said he was going to "Transform America". Damn if he aint. America really needed it, dont you think. We need to copy Sweden and Denmark. Do those folks ever do anything? Invent stuff? Or just use our stuff? How bout Scotland? What a laugh...or Romania! Oh, please.

It's true that the United States is now the world's leading oil producer, ahead of Saudi Arabia and Russia. US oil output has doubled since 2011 to nearly 13 million barrels per day. And America is pumping so much oil that it's now exporting 3 million barrels a day.

That'll frost his ass.
@earl-of-trumps saidNo, no no, he will change the post to fit his narrative (a new word being used by the media like crazy!!) and answer his own new query. OK, if that is what he wants to do, maybe ride off into the sunset while he is at it, but truly....what does he expect his opponent (you, in this case) to do as you stand there in his dust, unanswered question in hand???? Hang him High!?!!??

@very-rusty saidWith respect, I note that you mention jobs on the other side of the border. Usually I write about the USA. You may as well say that a tribe in North Africa will attack an adjacent village tonight and kill people with machetes in their beds. That is what they do. I myself am a citizen of USA and spend my time making it a better place. That is what WE do.

I hope you are not saying Biden should be thinking about Mexican citizens....that is what THEIR president is supposed to do.
@earl-of-trumps saidThe claim was the US was "energy independent" not that it exports some oil or not even that it exports more oil than it imports.

It is not and it is right wingers and the Trump administration that have tried to change the meaning of the term as I have already shown.
EDIT: Again it sadly obvious you didn't actually read the article. It says:
"Yet the United States is still dependent on the Middle East -- Saudi Arabia in particular."
