You do know how Jeff Bezos treats his lowly drones, sorry, wage slaves, sorry, "highly appreciated employees", don't you?
If Jeff Bezos were in charge, everybody who owned more than 1% of Amazon's stock would've been vaccinated already, and his entire workforce could go hang themselves. That's how he's always treated them, after all.
Please don't tell me you think the efficiency of the federal government is comparable to the efficiency of Amazon.
@sh76 saidIf you think you're Bezos' customer, you're fooling yourself. As with Apple, Google and Microsoft, you're neither Amazon's customer nor their client. You're their produce. Not even product; just produce. Nothing more human than that. A subhuman resource, that's all you are to the billionaires.

@shallow-blue saidThese mega companies give you free or cheap stuff that you obviously want (or you wouldn't use it) and all you can do is worry about their ulterior motives? Doesn't it get depressing to live your life like that?

Of course I know Facebook uses the info I post to sell targeting advertising campaigns. So what? I get a service I want (for free) and they get info they can sell. What's in the least bad about any of that?
I don't give a damn whether I mean anything to Jeff Bezos. I need a new stack of envelopes or a re-up on Vitamin D supplements or a TI-84 calculator for my daughter, so I give Jeff a few bucks (less than I'd pay at most stores) and Jeff sends someone to my house tomorrow to give it to me. WTF do I care whether Jeff considers me his customer, product, produce or best friend?
The human need to find something to whine about never ceases to amaze me.

So did slavery, so do sweatshops, so does child labor. It's surprising how cheap or free stuff gets when the people you use to make it barely get paid.
Technically, if Amazon would pay its workers in a bowl of porridge a day, they would be able to sell their products even cheaper. It is up to us to make sure that doesn't happen.
"Doesn't it get depressing to live your life like that?"
Yes, having morals can in fact lead to depression. What's your point? Give less fuks about how Amazon treats its employees and how Bezos amassed so much wealth?
"Of course I know Facebook uses the info I post to sell targeting advertising campaigns. So what? I get a service I want (for free) and they get info they can sell. What's in the least bad about any of that?"
How about when it sells the info you don't post? How about when it logs what sites you visit without your consent? How about when it gives you information it knows is false? Where is the line you would like Facebook not to cross?

Yes, and how he treats his workers is none of your business. After all, you aren't working those people to death, Bezos is. You're not dodging taxes, just Bezos. You're just buying cheap products. You're not an accomplice or anything. It's not like by profiting from an evil someone else is causing you're in any way responsible?
"The human need to find something to whine about never ceases to amaze me."
Yeah, those pesky morals some people have. A bunch of whiners, the lot of them.
