@metal-brain saidAgreed.
Exactly.
People in general do not vote for who they like the most, they vote for who they hear about the most in the corporate news media. That is why we get stuck with unlikable candidates on both sides.
Ranked Choice Voting would help with that which is why the establishment doesn't want it to get popular and has corrupt people like Gavin Newsom to veto it every time.
Part of the problem is also that politics is about power, money and connections, which the Clintons, Bidens and Trumps have a lot of. This is why more grass-roots people who are driven by passion rather profit rarely win elections.
Money begets more money and U.S. politics is set up to ensure this.
Three polls came out today with both Biden's approval rating and a generic Congressional ballot: Economist/YouGov (https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/k4maehoie4/econTabReport.pdf);
Quinnipiac (https://poll.qu.edu/images/polling/us/us07202022_regvoter_uazj33.pdf) and
Politico/Morning Consult: https://assets.morningconsult.com/wp-uploads/2022/07/19133716/2207093_crosstabs_POLITICO_RVs_v1_07-20-22_SH.pdf
All had Biden's approval in the low to mid 30's with an average of -20 between approval and disapproval.
Yet, all three polls had Democrats leading in the generic Congressional poll by 1, 3 and 4 points respectively.
Conventional wisdom says the President's party almost always loses Congressional seats in midterms esp. when the President has such a high negative approval.
But right wingers and pundits counting on the usual might be in for a surprise.
@metal-brain saidYour logic doesn't make sense unless you have a reason why corporate news media would purposefully promote unlikable people.

@wildgrass saidCNN does it all the time 🤷
Your logic doesn't make sense unless you have a reason why corporate news media would purposefully promote unlikable people.
@wildgrass saidWhat planet are you from again?
Why? They'd make more money promoting likable people.
@wildgrass saidWho do you think owns corporate news media -- the poor working class? LOL
Your logic doesn't make sense unless you have a reason why corporate news media would purposefully promote unlikable people.
Corporate news media will always purposefully promote those candidates that their masters want installed, which are very specific chosen persons that will obediently promote the interests of the wealthy elites, aka, the deep state.
And that's why any candidate that ever dares question the corrupt war industry or the drug industry gets immediately black-listed and ignored or attacked because they are seen as a threat to the massive corrupt profit system.
@vivify saidWhere have you been, man, Hilary CHEATED,
Something is seriously wrong when the Dems keep voting for people they hate. Dems despised Hilary and she somehow won the the nomination.
@wildgrass saidBunnyknight explained it pretty well.

Corporate news media serves the parasitic elites to promote their money making agenda. Most of that money is made outside of the corporate news media outlets they own. They are more than willing to sacrifice profit from that corporate news media outlet to make more money elsewhere. Why do you think Jimmy Dore is so popular? Because he is doing a better job of informing people than the corporate news media.
Most people do not trust the corporate news media anymore. A normal business would do something to change that so that news business makes more money. That is how you know they make more money propagandizing people. Would it surprise you to find out the same people who control the corporate news media are also shareholders of the Federal Reserve System and the military industrial complex?
The most corrupt tools are unlikable people.
