Bird Flu is now been described as the next plague however i am not scared by this statement made by Eamon Holmes on Sky News Breakfast!
What are your thoughts on Bird Flu we look at the facts and we see already 90 people have died of this flu

But would you say this is a flu? disease? epidemic??

Please share your thoughts

To be honest am not that bothered with the whole deal..

Till I die of it, then I might be slightly peed off.. if this won't be the end of me, then something else will come along..

All birds are welcome. Brunettes preferably! 😉

It's the media's "disease of the year." Every year the media picks a new disease that they'll showcase for the worried public. One year it's SARS. Another year it's lyme disease, or ebola virus, or an endless litany of other terrible diseases that will surely cause chaos and destruction. My advice is to just bury your head in the sand and forget about it. By next year they'll be on to a new disease and Bird Flu will be all forgotten about.

It's all a matter of perspective. 90 people have died from the bird flu. How many have died from lung cancer.....in the past week? Worldwide probably a hundred thousand.

90 people dead worldwide in 6 months is far from an epidemic, a terrible shame yes, but epidemic? hardly.

Thousands die from a bunch of other preventable causes (drinking, smoking, religion, driving etc) and it barely rates a mention in the news.

You're far more likely to die from an aneurysm bursting during vigorous sex than bird-flu. 🙂

I, on the other hand, have more chance of dying from bird flu.

Actually the Bird Flu as it stands now is not particularly dangerous to humans. However if it mutates, which could happen and is more likely the more the bird flu spreads, then it could become very very dangerous.

Even if it doesnt change it appears to spread fast amoungst birds however and I doubt that it will be stopped from spreading world wide over the next few years and that could seriously affect both wild bird populations and domestic ones which will in turn affect farmers quite dramatically.

as long as we are kept preoccupied with enough irrelevant garbage such that we dont have enough calm time to recognise the smell of the enveloping sewer.

Thankfully the author of this post correctly identified that bird flu might only signal the 'end of europe' and not as some arrogant blobs might think 'the end of civilization.'
