I think all Americans are sick and tired of being lectured by self-righteous hypocrite Bono, of the dinosaur rock band U2. If he weren't constantly urging my government to tax U.S. citizens to pay for his Third World wealth transfer schemes, we could care less that he posits his money in an off shore tax shelter to avoid financing his own annoying gimmicks. To think that this guy used to be a rock star -- what a tosser:

Granted, Bono is nothing more than an annoying self-righteous tosser but we should consider that Bono is one man in a four-piece band. It's not necessarily his money that's being manipulated, it's the band's.

But his music is so awe inspiring. I especially like the album "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb."

This site shows how much I enjoy their music:

Maybe if your politicians were less worried about trying to seem trendy and concerned about the issues to cod dim yooooff voters, then he wouldn't have an audience.

But yes, he is a megalomanic tosser. (I'm a Dubliner, and we all know this so I don't see much of a debate opening on the topic- plus his phony yanky accent is even more annoyingly moronic than Madonna's phony limy accent...) 😠

I once heard that Bono chartered a jet to fly his hat from Ireland to Italy in order that he could wear it for a show.

What a hypocrite!

It's amazing! Everyone agrees on something. He IS a tosser!

BTW I recently heard a story in which Bono made the whole crowd go silent at a live gig in Scotland and started slowly clapping his hands every 5 seconds. He told the crowd in a sorrowful voice "Every time i clap my hands a child dies in Africa" and a very loud voice from the crowd with a thick scottish accent shouted "Stop fu**ing doing it then!"

BTW I recently heard a story in which Bono made the whole crowd go silent at a live gig and started slowly clapping his hands every (i think it was) 7 seconds. He told the crowd in a sorrowful voice "Every time i clap my hands a child dies of poverty" (or something) and a voice from the crowd with a thick scottish accent said "stop bloody doing it then!"
That's a beauty!
Who cares if it's true or not?

Yes. The truth is often unimportant. It was in an email my friend told me about the other day. The exact details cannot be recovered, but you get the general idea.

Love that joke! Whats is a tosser anyway ?

Why do famous people have to be perfect?
Mohammed was a pedophile and apparently Gandhi.
But they both must have done a lot a good in their time, more good than evil I would imagine.
Bill and Melissa Gates have shown far more generosity than most
tycoons and yet many will find fault. Same with Bono. What is wrong with harassing the world to remember the poverty of the Third World countries and encourage rich nations to cancel their external debt ?

Well IMHO opinion it takes a tosser to know one.

However, Bono has done more than practically anyother politician to reduce poverty and increase trade for Africa.

And although Live Aid made him a global star in the pop world, Live 8 made him a global star in debt reduction.

His music has been the themetune to my life since the war tour or 1983. He might want to save tax (don't we all) and he might use planes a bit too much but in the age of off setting our sins he is well in credit.

.
I love U2 like any other person has, some of their songs are just pure magic, but I heard this on the radio this morning :- Sydney radio station 2MMM

At a U2 concert in Glasgow, Bono asks the audience for some quiet.
Then in the silence, he starts to slowly clap his hands.

Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone
"Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies."

A voice from near the front pierces the silence;
"Well, stop clapping your f@$*%$# hands then!"

People keep saying that here - "it takes one to know one". What is that supposed to mean?

- "Osama bin Laden, you are charged with being a genocidal maniac who has taken, with absolutely no remorse, thousands of innocent lives to further his own political ends. How do you plead?"

- "Well it takes one to know one."

- "Good point. Be on your way. And drive safely."

Yeah, yeah. I'm down to four league games. I'll be gone soon.
