@my-king-and-i removed their quoted postThis 83 yo just fixed my own brakes. Saved a bundle too AND got an impact wrench in the bargain which I would not have gotten had I just paid the 4 bills Mavis wanted just for the back brakes.

@sonhouse saidWow, even higher than I had estimated. Damn one can buy a small car here for around $20,000 although I wouldn't buy one as I like steel bumpers front and back not the plastic ones that give no protection what so ever.
It is NOT what ifs that car prices will skyrocket because of Trump's insane tariff wars.
They are saying 10,000 to 20,000 more for cars now and that is not a joke.

@Very-Rusty saidOne thing, I don't think tariffs will hit used cars. LOTS of used cars on the market and now with tariffs, they will look a LOT better a deal than new. BESIDES being cheaper, if you get say a 2 year old car, it will have been proven which is better than a new car which has not been driven and you don't know what infant mortality deals it will run into.

@Very-Rusty saidOur Traitor in Chief says 25% tariff so a 50,000 dollar car is now is now 62.5 Thousand. 12.5 thou up in price because of a mad man.
