@wildgrass saidIt's interesting that when the evidence is overwhelming how quickly our crack team of maganaughts go silent...maybe because in space noone can hear your scream.....
85% of farmers voted for Trump.

@kmax87 saidJust did my tax return.
Come on then you know who you are, how many now feel they've been diddled by Trump and co. And in what way?
Was once again thankful for the 20% QBI deduction. Saved me a nice chunk of cash.
Sure, taxes are too low. But I've given up on either party being the slightest bit fiscally responsible.
So I'll take the money.
I'm willing to pay higher taxes to close the federal budget and maybe even pay down the federal debt... but that's not what will happen to it.
So, like I said, I'll take the money.
@sh76 saidWhat business do you have?

@sonhouse saidYou mean like what industry or what business?
What business do you have?
If the former, it's education (educational administration or consulting might be slightly more precise), if the latter, I think I'm gonna preserve my anonymity, though if you're really curious, I can send you a dm.
@sh76 saidWe should just make tax rates 0% for everyone. Avoids all those pesky conversations about fiscal responsibility.

@wildgrass saidThat's an odd response to a post that conceded "taxes are too low."

@sh76 saidYeah, would love to hear it. Will be discreet, especially if it is a porn star network🙂

@sh76 saidI don't think you represent the demographic that would be diddled by trump, counsel.

@wildgrass saidTaxes are too low from a policy perspective. The government needs more money so it can pay for social security, Medicare, Medicaid, infrastructure, defense and other important government expenditures. Taxes can be raised without hurting the incentive to work (I'm not going to go through the Laffer curve again, but anyone interested can Google or AI it). I have a few specific suggestions, but I'll leave it here for now.
Taxes are too low but the take home message was "I'll take the money".
Please clarify.
Mind you, spending should ALSO be cut. In an economy like this one, we should be running a balanced budget or a surplus.
Still, as the government is incompetent (on both sides) and is not going to handle my money properly in any case, I'm happy to keep it in my pocket.
