I read with interest an article on Larry Craig's resignation. It struck me that Republicans are not very gay friendly.

I wondered if he had procured straight sex whether he would be treated the same?

Is it possible to be gay and republican in todays US?

Leave it to the Bard to sum up the problem with the Republicans.

"My good brother, do not as some ungracious pastors do, show me the steep and thorny way to heaven; whiles , like a puff'd and reckless libertine, himself the primrose path of dalliance trends, and recks not his own rede (follows not his own counsel).

Shakespeare, Hamlet Act 1, sc 3

When you have a party of religious fanatics, that's what happens.

However there are technically gay Republicans (obviously).

Here's a list of Republican Sex Scandals. You can do further research to find out who got what punishment if you want.

I looked. There isn't one at that site. I don't think that came from Wikipedia though.

You're welcome to do some research yourself. Let us know what you find.

The dKosopedia is written from a left/progressive/liberal/Democratic point of view while also attempting to fairly acknowledge the other side's take.

I'll go to conservapedia then.

Nope, conservapedia doesn't have such an article.

While I did enjoy jabbing the Republicans, I posted that list because this question was asked:

I wondered if he had procured straight sex whether he would be treated the same?

This way one can look up the incidences that were gay vs those that were straight and compare the penalties the politicians in question suffered.
