If he didn’t plan on violence that day why bring a knife not multi tool to a track meet and have his hand on the knife ready to go and act the way he was beforehand . It wasn’t a dangerous group of schools there like other places. Then to act the way he was when it wasn’t even his tent? He should have acted like a human being and respected this. He was starting crap or there wouldn’t have been an issue, we know what he was telling people calling them names and threatening them. It wasn’t raining like everyone here said through that time period his clothes only had a few sprinkles of rain on them that could have been from the trees when arrested or when he fell on the last step of the bleachers running to get away. It blows my mind at those overlooking so much to fit a desired outcome, sad racist hate filled people. They should be ashamed, but we know they are offended by everything and ashamed of nothing.

That's not what the Texas Assault statute I already cited says.

EDIT: It's on p. 13 of this thread. Section 3 is the relevant law which makes Metcalf's shove a criminal assault.

I think the court erred in allowing the jury to consider whether Anthony "provoked" Metcalf's assault. According to Texas law:

A witness said a bully told him to leave or he'd "beat his a**" and he then said "touch me and see what happens". The bully had no authority to order him out of anywhere and the people who didn't like his presence there declined to go get a coach who was only 20 feet awa ...[text shortened]... tcalf did even having to go up multiple levels of bleacher seats to get to where Anthony was seated.

Caysen Allison stabbed an unarmed fellow high schooler multiple times during a fight in a boys room killing him. He was convicted only of criminally negligent homicide.

Similar cases should not yield such disparate results. And justice is not served by a trial with the serious legal errors I have already outlined.
