So, here we have him. Is he thorn in the side of capitalism (read: US) or is the man a hero?
All Condi Rice's warnings (ad infinitum) of the man being a dictator, have proven to be untrue after he accepted his defeat in the referendum, which, by the way, would only have given him the same rights that most prime-ministers in Europe have.

Reports like this:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has said Central American and Caribbean states could pay for oil with services or products like bananas and sugar.

must surely rile the loonies in Washington (The "Loonies" being a term coined by the CIA in the early 90's, by the way)?

What do you all think?
I personally think Europe should support him (and Castro).

Yes. That's not what I meant.
The CIA top described the group around Bush Sr. that couldn't get into power (until Bush jr.) as "the Loonies".

Since Hugo was rebuffed by his people in his latest power grab (election)to be the new Castro, I guess that makes him insignificant.

He can't run for President again in 2012(I believe thats correct) so how will he retain power?

As for him being a thorn, since you made your anti-West feelings clear in previous posts, not surprised that you would support a a would be dictator, long as he is anti-American

nuff said

except for Merry Christmas and a prosperous capitalistic New Year to you and yours. !!

Chavez IS a hero. He's trying to explain why an occasional chicken beak is all one really needs. And besides, they'll also be getting an occasional banana from time to time. Without this diet they will just become fat and bloated like you Capitalists. People are so stupid. Chavez knows what they need.
