Chi Mayor: Make employers pay a tax on all employees, 100+/emp companies

Debates

The more you tax something , the less you get of it. I employ 108 people in one enterprise. It will not be difficult to fire 9 people, I will then have 99 employees, and run along fine.

This is a great example of your pitiful lib thinking. Punish the successful. Tell the bastirds, ""Hey, wait a minute Mr Businessman!!! We want some of your action! We want to spread your wealth around! We want to pay for free bus rides for Suzianne and Sunhouse to get to the Peoples' Internet Cafe!!" 😆 😆

If the work of 108 people can be done without effect by 99 you would be a rare mamger if you wouldn't fire these 9 anyway...

Good point, like the Pharaohs could get 8000 men to do the work of 11,000. Yea, it can be done.
But up to now, I have provided a wonderful workspace for my employees, where they enjoy all of the benefits of home and great hours and liberal vacation and insurance policies. Of course they would not have that anymore, but if they don’t like it, they can hit the door, by golly. I will say “ we don’t want your kind around here anymore.”
They would hardly be upset with me, as I did what I had to do, they need to get some signs like y’all use all the time in the street and go walk up and stand by the mayor’s office in Chicago. It will be he that causes the loss of jobs. I hope you stayed with me to the end of this post

The question is [f]can[/b]the 99 do the work or will the profit go down?

For example if you look at a haircutter, they can only cut so many heads in a given time, reducing the number will reduce profit

I'd love it if corporate giant, Boeing Aircraft moved right out of Chicago and Illinois, altogether.
Hey, Gary, Indiana is but a stone's throw to the east.

(Boeing moved to Arlington Virginia because of a good tax deal but still has 400 employees in Chicago)

There is always a way, that is what boards are for. A board, like the one who changed the name of their company Cracker Barrel to a woke sign and got their ass kicked.
So my board would figure a way to increase benefits in some fashion that would not cost us much but would be very appreciated by the employees. Thinky, thinky, thinky.
In chess, there is always a better move. You know, Elon musk is a thinker. Enough said.

Tell us why you feel sorry for an average employee working for an average company, voluntarily. (most likely a company with benefits.

Gotta run, the latest story is a migrant who assaulted a 14 year-old in Ireland. My scoring has gotten behind. I wonder what Ireland does in those cases. Do you think they give him a house like we do?

But the dude is saying what? The dude has a company, and he does all he can to cut corners and make money. If he is doing so within the law and can possibly avoid this horrendous, new tax, tell us where there is something wrong with the picture.
You can’t.

Well, given that you are of the group on this forum that thinks that employers should share all of their profits at the end of the day with the people on the assembly line, etc.,I will not likely hire you to even work at my company. Why would I? you would not be there for a week before you would be carrying some sign and walking around in circles in front of the building. I would probably be taking my top producers on a trip to New Orleans for a good time, while you march.

It's called profit sharing, if your company does well, the employees do well also besides their normal wages.
I know you are too selfish to EVER even contemplate such a plan. For you, ALL profits are yours SCREW the employees.
