You mean what used to be called the republican party is NOT run by Trump now? Trump ruined the formerly called law and order party.
Because Trump is literally above the law, the top dog in the republican party has convictions on his record totally ignored by the present Trumplican party so it is definitely not the same party as before, when the top dog is literally above the law, that taints the entire apparatus with his stain.

No one ever "needs" to apologize to Trump.

He is what he is, and he's not changing. Any apology designed to "smooth over" anything, he'll just see as a sign of weakness. He's a world-class con man and ass hole, if anyone needs to apologize, it's him.
