I have never heard this goof ball before. I guess he is on msnbc. He was a guest on Leno and in under 5min he fired through every democratic talking point. Most of which were untrue... It was like he was reading directly from moveon.org's website.
If this guy is the norm of what msnbc has to offer then I do not see why everyone gives fox such a hard time with their right leaning programing.
Is this guy normally such a tool?
Originally posted by lepomisYes. That's his normal behavior. Look into what he did for a living before he became a news man. After what you've seen, it won't surprise you. There is no way anybody can think this guy doesn't bring his bias with him.

The other thing that bothers me, is that he offers absolutely nothing original. He's another one made with a cookie cutter. Universities throughout the country are producing his twin by the thousands every year. There's at least a half dozen of his clones on this very forum.

"Political career
Matthews has worked for four Democratic politicians. He was a presidential speechwriter for four years during the Carter administration. Among his efforts was Carter's infamous "malaise" speech, though the word "malaise" did not actually appear in the official transcript. He served as a top aide to long-time Speaker of the House of Representatives Tip O'Neill for six years. He worked in the U.S. Senate for five years on the staffs of Senators Frank Moss and Edmund Muskie before losing to Pennsylvania Congressman Joshua Eilberg in a U.S. House of Representatives Democratic primary in 1974.
Matthews was raised in a conservative Irish Catholic household. As a young man he supported Barry Goldwater, but was inspired to become a Democrat by Eugene McCarthy's pro-civil rights and anti-Vietnam war platforms. Despite having worked for Democrats, Matthews has said, "I'm more conservative than people think I am. ... I voted for George W. Bush in 2000", according to media watchdog group Media Matters for America.

Matthews is like most idiots on TV whether they're left or right wing. Why do you guys even watch that crap on cnn, msnbc or fox? They're all just chasing ratings and will say stuff either to get you agree with them and tune because of it, or they'll say stuff to get you mad so you'll keep tuning in also.
Don't be suckers. Turn off the tv and make up your own minds.

ok, Chris Matthews clones, please speak up and be counted. i bet there's a lot more than 6.

Originally posted by lepomisI live in Canada so we get all the american stations. I can't watch more than 10 minutes of any of those talking heads who are supposed "experts". Most of them have agendas, be it from the right or the left, or the people they interview are completely biased from either the left or right.
Who told you this? or have you watched the shows?
So you end up getting a bunch of talking points thrown at you with "key messages" and if there are any actual good questions they are answered to make sure the responses tow the party line and stay on message. It's virtually impossible to get unbiased media analysis these days.
There is an underground war going on in the US and it's about power...a power which can only be gained by having your "side" get into the Whitehouse. Lobbying is at an all time high and special interests have perfected "voter mobilization" methods to get politicians to vote their way. Private media outlets are no different and treat the news as their venue to spew out their rhetoric. With the american media it's even more dangerous because most Americans make up their minds by watching tv news programs.
In Canada we also have private media but we also have the CBC which is partly funded by taxpayer dollars and is not controlled in any way by the governing political party that happens to be power. The purpose of the CBC is to provide real objectivity and analysis and is one of the most respected news outlets in the world because of it.
American news has been reduced to propoganda machines.
