Canada's finance minister Christia Freeland announced her candidacy to replace Justin Trudeau of the liberals currently in power. She is banking on Trudeau stepping down or losing the next election and today delivered a knife blow to him and the liberal party itself by massively criticizing its current platform in her resignation letter today. She put her own political ambitions ahead of the people of Canada today.
She's been an ineffective Finance Minister and does not communicate well in front of the camera. The liberals were planning a cabinet shuffle on wednesday and told the current cabinet ministers where they will be moved to. Freeland was offered another cabinet position on Friday but didn't like that she was being moved out of a high profile cabinet position and decided to unleash a scornful fury back at Trudeau by releasing her resignation letter to the public in which she massively criticized everything the liberal party has been doing.
The liberal party is run by a bunch of amateurs (that most Canadians cannot wait to vote out of office) and stupidly tried to get Freeland to deliver a budget update today after telling her she was being moved out of the position on Friday. The liberals should have waited until after the budget update today and then told freeland she was being moved to another position so she could have saved face about delivering a budget she was not going to be implementing.
That being said, Freeland took the unprecedented step of lashing out instead of accepting the new cabinet position. She could not stand being demoted to lower profile position so she decided to take the whole party and its leader down out of anger and a desire to position herself in the best political spotlight. Her hope is that she will be seen as a moral hero, standing up to men who don't like powerful women.
Instead she should be seen as yet another selfish politician only out for themself. She had many chances to stand up against the things she mentioned in her resignation letter but didn't do it when she was still in a high profile position that was helping her career. But once that profile disappeared and with it her political aspirations, well, it was time to unleash hell on those in her way.
Meanwhile, Canada burns...and all anyone wants to talk about is whether the man will resign. Mon Deux. How Canada was voted 4th best country in the world is beyond me.

Canada isn't as actively religious, although what makes the West great is you have to work and travel often. Traveling and migration is the regular mode (not so much immigration, but making trips and visiting, moving short distances). That makes it difficult to congregate for church observances. A right to privacy is heavily sought after or expected in North American countries. No modern political movements appear to threaten that strong heritage. However, it does put comfortable living arrangements in bits of jeopardy. People will need to huddle in private spaces closer together .

SAMPSON: No, sir. I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb.
