Apparently a woman posted on her church bulliten borad that she was looking for a Christian roomate. She was then presented with a civil suit by the "Fair Housing of West Michigan". It seems that the law suit contends that the woman in question was being discriminitory against other faiths.

Discuss.

Seems like a pretty hopeless case, maybe there will be something to discuss after a verdict?

That her request was discriminatory against other faiths isn't really a point of debate, it obviously is. The question is, to what extent do we allow private persons to discriminate ?

If she asked for a female roomate, would that be discrimination in your view?

Of course, take a look at the definition of "to discriminate". It's so blindingly obvious that it's not worth a thread. That's why I tried to change the discussion to 'should we allow private individuals to discriminate' ?

In this case, I'd say she has the liberty to do so. You can't force her to live in a house with someone she doesn't want there.

I would agree. You SHOULD NOT be forced to live with someone you do not wish to live with. However, I guess we will sit back and watch if a statist or two pops their ugly heads out and force the poor soul to do their bidding.

Whether the law suit is successful or not, the fact that there is a news story about it has all leftists guilty as charged.
