Coming Epstein files redactions scandal

Debates

I am convinced the Epstein files release will turn into a redactions scandal. Everybody will wonder why so much was redacted and why. It will not be because they are protecting the victims unless a lot of people go to prison, but Patel said there wasn't anything there or he would have released it. He said "There’s “no credible information” that Epstein trafficked girls to anyone besides himself". So expect anything to contradict that to be redacted.

I am not buying that the victims want to be protected so much they are willing to let their rapists go free. Ask the victims who have come forward that I saw on TV if they think the privacy of the victims is more important than putting their molesters in prison.

We all know there will be redactions. If not, they would have been released days ago. Common sense.

The DOJ should just buy a bunch of packs of black paper to hand out.

Last March saw the most overtime logged by DoJ and DHS workers.

They sure were not clearing case backlogs.

It was all hands on deck redacting the Epstein files. Everyone knows this.

There's been a second round of overtime this month getting the files "ready for prime time", which means redacting most references to Republicans. They'll leave any mention of Democrats, because this is Trump's agenda.

The victims want ALL the details out, if it helps bust the perpetrators. The Administration claims they want to protect the victims, but they had damned little motivation to do that before now. The victims have already risked much by coming forward, they'd rather see this through to the logical end than see any of the guilty go free regardless of political party.

Let's hope that the MAGA people who have insisted Trump release the files keep up the pressure to release ALL the data. This one item on the MAGA agenda has caused more people to finally turn their backs on the liar in the White House than any other, with the one exception of the economy. They're pretty tired of hearing "Let them eat cake" from this White House.

I thought my sarcasm was obvious.

Agreed.

It is not easy to redact the names of child molesters without it being obvious.
They will be busy for a long time and it will still be obvious. Nobody believed there was no Epstein files and nobody will believe the coming redactions are justified either.

I have to conclude that releasing what they said did not exist is a desperate move that will not work. Even Jimmy Dore has finally caught up with me on this. I wonder if he reads my posts on here.
