If they want Hugo, then its none of the US's business. By funding opposing parties and undermining Chavez, the US is being wholly undemocratic. If Chavez were deposed would you say the country had been liberated from a democratically elected leader? Is democracy only any good if they vote for who the US wants?

Is Hugo overreaching?
Anyways, yes. It looks like a classic case of paranoia to me. But... on the other hand, he was kidnapped (in an attempted coup), he's been threatened by prominent US religious figures, he's been threatened by prominent US ministers (Condi for one), and his best mate has had more than 50 assissination attempts made on his life.
So, he's probably being quite rational in his paranoia, to be quite frank.
Another way I tried looking at it this afternoon was: What if a Dutch TV station mentioned the Dutch prime-ministers name, over and over, showing pictures of the pope being shot. I don't know... I have a funny feeling that TV station would be dragged out on to the streets to do at least 30 hours community service!
What about Fox doing that to Bush? What would the reaction be?

I'm also on first name basis with Cindy (Shehan)
Have you ever seen that photo of both of them together? I took that picture. Aren't they just like, so cute together!?
