all this time, the obama-haters thought he was a closet Arab, and now we find he's really a closet euro-pee'in.

How did the Bush years go bye with such a complete absence of this sort of simple, humane thinking? Answers on a post card...
Close Guantanamo ?
Agreed.
Peace Makers to the Mid East ?
Is that something new?

I have a question. I heard Obama say that closing down Guantanamo will make us all "safer". How so? Unless, of course, he means those who are held captive or could be candidates for being held captive at Guantanamo will be "safer".
How many innocent people do you think there are in Guantanamo? More to the point, how many innocent people do you think there are in Guantanamo who are being denied a fair trial in a court of law? The war on terror was a battle for justice and freedom! Both of these things have been denied to the people held in this prison. It needs to be closed in exactly the same way that the Nazi concentration camps needed to be closed. Both are examples of humanity succumbing to pure evil!

Absolutely. Knowing we are going to finally be the worlds friend fills my heart with warmth and fluffy bunnies. And kittens. Don't forget the kittens. They're so cute.

The statement was phrased to indicate that those in the US would be "safer" is it was closed down. As far as them being held, it was my assumption that they were being held becuase they were "dangerous". Now as to the morality of doing so is for another debate altogether as well as the questions revlovling around the innocence.

Have you ever gone to the hardware store and seen a paint chart. There are like a 100 shades of pink. I can easily tell that they are all different. I can bet you dont have that fine sense of discrimination to see such differences.

The war on terror is "...a battle for justice and freedom.." ??? Since when? I thought it was a war on Islamic terrorists who attack western interests because they support Israel.
