I have been gone for some months and just returned. Upon reading the various threads in the debates forum it occurs to me that being involved in them every day skews the ability to think and communicate clearly.
Our knowledge can only be finite, while our ignorance must necessarily be infinite.
So what in the world leads people to think that they are "convincing" others to a point of view? Maybe it is just me, but it seems that people take themselves way too seriously.
I guess it is ok to try and "convince" others. I guess it is ok to support Israel or Palestine. But in truth, those people just hate each other, and all the "convincing" in the world will not change that simple biological fact.
Is there anything that humans can do that will improve communication between individuals? And if so, how in the world can that "ramp up" so that "groups" can communicate? The only idea that comes to my mind is the sad realization that "this is why we have leaders".
Maybe by appointing a "jabbering monkey in charge", my chief can learn to get along and/or communicate with your "squawking super monkey in charge". My experience tells me that the chances of super monkeys liking each other are quite small, especially if there are "prizes" lurking and the super monkeys are not castrated.

I think you have it nailed.🙂
(feels so good to just so split an infinitive once in a while)
