The latest Czar to be appointed by Obama is said to be the "Pay Czar".His duties will be to oversee executives pay at private companies. This will make a total of 13 czars. I am curious what the obamanites think of this.Or, conservatives, patriots or who ever else wants to join in.
So the question is,.
1) is a "pay czar" good for the U.S. ?
2) are all these czars good for the U.S. ?
What's the point of "overseeing" pay? Just put in some legislation that limits it. Let's start here: no employee in a company can earn more than 100 times the salary of the lowest paid employee in the company.
Think about it, is it really fair or helpful to the economy that people with NO personal financial risk get paid more than the real entrepeneurs?

I'm sure the Romanovs turn over in their graves (or mausoleums or wherever they hang out these days) when they announce the newest "composition of flavored toothpaste czar."
As for whether it should exist, well, if the government owns the company, it can choose whom to pay what. If the government doesn't own the company, then what the executives get paid is really none of its business.

Fortunately I'm not alone; the late Jan Tinbergen, Nobel Prize winner in economics, came up with the idea. Sadly, his ideas weren't and still aren't popular with politicians.
Don't you think that people who take risks, come up with creative business ideas and invest their money should be rewarded more money than people who got through Harvard business school because their daddies were rich?

Maybe he wouldn't have. but most people would.
these czars in my opinion are not good for the U.S. and our system as we know it. They are accountable to know one but the president. It is a way to by pass the checks and balances originally put in place through the 3 branches of govermant. But this is just part of the "change we can believe in". The anointed one did say he is gonna "remake America"

What illegal things is it you think they do? To suggest that it "...is just part of the "change we can believe in". The anointed one did say he is gonna "remake America"..." is a kind of daft hyperpartisan mewling. Were Ronald Reagan's "Czars" alright for you, or Nixon, Ford or Carter for that matter, or did they circumnavigate the checks and balances and bring the America you love crashing down into a constitution in flames and ascendant tyranny in 1986 or thereabouts? No. You need to calm down and get a wee bit of perspective.

Everyone knows Czars smoke the finest cigars, so expect a Czar led Cuban cigar recovery.
Or as grandpappy used to say, anything that keeps dem rolling dem leaves.
Originally posted by utherpendragonWhat we need are Czars to oversee what monies politicians receive. For example, what about all the millions Obama made from his book? In fact, it was written in enough time to avoid many of his new tax hikes for the rich. In short, the hypocrosy abounds in Washington once again. Too bad no one is able to keep these nontaxpaying wealthy elitists in Washington accountable.

BTW, why do they care what people make in the private sector so long as they pay their taxes? My guess is that the government is "uncomfortable" with "rich" private citizens. I suspect that all that power and influence apart from Washington frightens them a bit.
