I was wondering, what are views of poeple regarding Dan brwon's novel Da vinci code. Well, he has done this not just once but the related fury is quite visible in his another novel "angels and demons" also.

I guess, Its a fact that truth is greatest enemy of faith.

It's a fact that Dan Brown couldn't write his way out of paper bag full of pre-written plot devices.

oh, you are harsh on him. Every author dervies ideas, they dont generate themselves..its a way author carrys what matters. and of course how it is being carried by poeple.

that aside, how is it that each time something like this comes up its treated as original (and heretic) thought? the idea has been done to death in books such as holy blood and the holy grail, among others, yet the media spotlight (and the correspponding religious backlash) seems to only focus on the rather poorly written dan brown book.

Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code is classified as 'fiction'. Even by himself.

No where is this stated as "truth".

Lots of hype, lots of press, interesting storyline, a movie but also lots of counter-points to many of the main points here as well.

Just like the press, hype and attention that terrorism gets. So much of it bombarding the weak minded, that in fact people are even beginning to believe that the terrorists have a good reason to continue attacking non-military targets such as mosques, resorts, highrise buildings, etc., killing civilians, capturing civillians, and now a recent attack claimed by some Al Qae'da group upon a resort in Turkey. Yet still, the thoughtless bleeding-heart liberals continue to be sympathetic toward these terrorists.

Sorry for the diversion but I could not help but make the correlation of media bombardment upon the weak minded of the world.

Dan Brown's work is a work of fiction just like information which supports or garners sympathy for terrorists.

Thanks for shoe-horning your agenda into an unrelated thread.

Very well, In an interview, he, himself, said that he wrote what he believes. there's a book by him "angels and demons" .. he mentioned about illuminati and masons.. and the legendary works by galileo, and ancient scientists..

he mentioned about cruelness of xtians against scientist and ancient religous beliefs(i would rather say, superstition) which led to so many sufferings for them. Isnt that truth should come out?

what about the lost/hidden gospels, like that of judas?

There is something hidden here..historians do love the truth.

Well if the man could learn to develop characters he might become marginally interesting.

I think this is the first time ANYONE sees Dan Brown's book as what it is. I presonally think that Dan Brown goes through the following process: get an idea write a book. Modify it slightly; write another book. Modify it in another direction; write a third book. Has anyone else noticed this?

The first time anyone sees that his books are utter drivel? I've been saying that ever since I attempted to read Digital Fortress. Damn airport bookstores.

Is the conspiracy the attempt to discredit the traditional view of Christianisty or that by conveying the "truth" of the matter ineptly Dan Brown helps to bury the "real story".
