DEI means that if you have a job opening, you don't just go to a Harvard campus to advertise it, you go to other universities too. Or you don't just go to one single neighbourhood in New York to advertise it. Or you don't just go to a strip joint (i am doing the stereotype that only men like strippers).
DEI means you should have a diverse hiring pool, absolutely nowwhere does it say you must disregard a competent hire and hire an incompetent one. It also helps women , old (or young), disabled, veterans, etc. (so you racists don't throw a spaz attack that it only helps "the blacks"😉
It means you should consider inviting a person with glasses or ovaries to interview, instead of just your frat house bros, you might actually be pleasantly surprised
