If the people of Iraq voted to live in an Islamic state under Sharia Law would that be ok? Obviously GWBush would be upset by this, but does that matter?

Iraq is either going to split into three countries at the end of this mess or end up a puppet state of Iran. Stupid idea from the Americans. How is this going to benefit the west.
These people do not give a damn about democracy. They have been under one form of autocratic government or another since the nations ancient history. It is what they are used to. Democracy is such an alien concept to these people.

As long as the country was safe, free and not a home to terrorists, then I'd say: Mission accomplished.

Well, it'd be their choice. Then they'd find out if it's ok.

Do you think it is heading that way at the moment? I don't mean for this to be confrontational, I am just interested in your view on this matter.

Are the USA

1) safe - (crime stats here)
2) free - (Patriot Act here)
3) not a home of terrorist (where do I start?)

Why don't they mind their own business first?
