Democrat Doug Schoen Warns of ‘Historic’ Losses in November

Democrat Doug Schoen, a political consultant, has warned his party that they could face “historic” losses in the mid-terms come November if the winds don’t miraculously change.

In a lengthy op-ed for The Hill, Schoen argued that Democrats just will not be able to shake or avoid President Joe Biden’s increasing unpopularity with the American public, with the latest Quinnipiac poll putting his approval rating at a dismal 35 percent. Biden has also lost ground with two key voting blocs needed to pull out a victory: independents and Hispanics.

----------------------------- See you in November :-)

I don't think so.
Regions tend to stay the same with a few swing areas.
The problem is voters have taken sides like they are cheering for a sports team and they don't care how bad they are doing they are still die hard fans.

Face paint and all.

no doubt there are die-hards on both sides, and yeah, they treat it like a football game.

But there are independents to be respective of. Midterms *always* go against the incumbent,
even when said administration has had a popular first two years. Joe Biden has bombed out badly, sooo....

‘Gerontocracy’: Axios Raises Concerns About Joe Biden’s Age, ‘Geriatric Leadership of Government’

@Axios on Monday raised concerns about President Joe Biden’s 2024 political viability due to his age and stamina.

Just two days after the @New-York-Times revealed its worries about Biden returning to the campaign trail due to old age, lack of excitement, and failing track record, Axios reported that “Democrats now are privately debating whether Biden, already the oldest president, will be fit to run for reelection.”

@Earl-of-Trumps

I believe you are right about the massacre of the midterms cometh.
I don't see full states swinging over to the other side though.

Perhaps you can recall a republican, Glenn Youngkin, winning the election for Governor in 2021,
in a deep blue state, Virginia. That was a state that Biden took, one year earlier, by a large margin. Things swung. A lot.

@Earl-of-Trumps

Possibly.
Let me know when California is red and I will concede to your superior knowledge.

@Lipareeno, here is what I mean by the power of independents.
-----------------------------------

Poll: Independents Fuel Republican Bid to Recapture Congress

Support from unaffiliated voters is propelling Republicans’ bid to reclaim both the House and Senate in November, a new Rasmussen Reports poll found.

When likely U.S. voters were asked who they would vote for if elections were held today, 48 percent said a Republican candidate, 39 percent said a Democrat candidate, and just four percent said some other candidate. Nine percent were unsure.

"Historic"?

I doubt it. Probably the typical losses suffered every time a Dem president is elected.

I'll be sure to do that. 😏

Interesting to note, I posted an opinion piece by a CNN analyst the other day, and he too, ,predicted a large sweep by Repubs

Average result of midterm is 26 seats lost in the House by President's party; historic would be over 100.

This guy is predicting a relatively minor loss of Dem seats in the House:

Democrats can expect to lose about 19 seats in the House and break even in the Senate.

The Dems won't lose 100 seats, but damm, they won't lose 19 either
