I stopped replying to guys like this, but I love the logic here. Well done CL.
As much as I dislike Democrats no one should go to hell.

Therefore accept Christ and you will have life.

John 3:35-36
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the WRATH of God abideth on him.

I'm curious as to how you understand and justify the federal budget deficit (not the trade deficit) when republicans have controlled both houses of congress and the executive branch for the past 4 years. Am I missing something?

Allow me to expand. The new estimate of the medicare perscription drug benefit will be $724 billion. Up a mere $300 Billion from his projection. Can you imagine the outrage if it were a democratic president? But what do we hear from Republicans? Silence.

Yet people are going to go to Hell, according to your belief system. So there's a problem with the way the world is designed, no? If I design something, and it doesn't do what it should do, then I've failed as a designer.

You're kidding , right ?

Democrats have wanted this program for years.
When it was legislated, they complained it was not enough!

Did you think it was going to be Free?
Now you complain about the cost, next week you'll complain about cutting it.

I think you are missing my point. If you were to go into a store and buy something that was marked at $100 and you went to the check out line and the clerk said we have increased the price to $175, I think you might have some feelings about it.

I've done some homework:

Republicans claim that they are better at managing the economy, but
the facts demonstrate that they somewhat worse than Democrats in
this regard. Confer:

http://www.sideshow.connectfree.co.uk/JustForTheRecord.htm

And Bush has disguised his 'lean' budget by not including any of the
money he plans to use to continue to fight his war against Iraq.

Increase defense, decrease social programs; it's been the mantra of
the Republican party for 40 years, at least. Why? Because defense
increases mean the government buys expensive things like bombs
and planes which are made by rich companies who give big dollars.
Social programs help those with no money, who aren't likely to vote,
and have no political clout. It's a brilliant, if immoral, strategy.

Republicans also like the 'credit card' concept of economy, where they
provide tax cuts now, but let our debt rise. As our deficit reaches
record highs and our debt is over 7.5 trillion dollars, we are going to
be totally screwed unless we hit all of the lottos in every other country
simultaneously.

So, I'll ask again: Has spending increased or decreased in the past
5 years?
