Democrats - If you've been watching FOX News, you'll see and hear why the GOP has been successful in connecting with the American voter base. Consider the messages they've been pounding home:
Democrats want open boarders
Democrats want free stuff
Democrats are socialists
Democrats hate capitalism
Democrats want a welfare state
You get the idea. They're loaded with lies, but these simple (elementary school) messages connect deeply with many Americans because they're so easy to understand.
Now flip over to MS Now, and look at a sampling of their messages:
On Inflation: The result is an obvious and multifaceted problem for a president whose directly responsible for having created the economic conditions that are fueling the affordability crisis he was elected to address.
On farm foreclosures: This alienation of reliably conservative rural voters, who have long been a backbone of the GOP electorate, could have significant ramifications for the future of Trump’s policy agenda.
On Iran: So it’s positioned much better than the United States as a democracy where public opinion matters. "People’s anger will be felt at a political level.”
Too complicated, too many big words, too multi-faceted. Democrats - You may very well be telling the truth here, but it's going over the heads of many voters. If you don't dumb down your messages a bit, you won't connect with all the voters you want to reach.
Republicans have been saying those things for decades. What's changed is that they have a charismatic leader.
Bush also had a bunch of grade-school phrases, like "they hate our freedom". He just didn't have the charisma behind his words. Same for Mitt Romney, McCain, etc.
But its not just charisma: Trump has the advantage of a news network with a monopoly on conservative viewers. One news channel delivers all the propaganda, compared to multiple non-right wing news outlets all competing for ratings. TBN, a Christian network, is the most popular religious network in the U.S., also working to serve Trump.
Dems have dumbed down their message, like with Kamala's campaign of "joy". Whatever TF that means.
Plus, rich people back Republicans because their policies benefit them. Rich people run the country, media, etc. Republicans have major advantages that only grow each election cycle.
@paradox4 saidIs it really capitalism? Republicans have been in charge most of the last few decades. They built a political system that favors monopolistic control of entire industries.

10 companies control almost 80% of GDP. Everyone else is begging for scraps. Republicans built that.
